For the wall that isn't there.

Hand-welded steel mirrors that hang from the ceiling. When there's a window over the vanity, a floating vanity, or a double island in the middle of the room, the mirror comes down from above.

Why they hang

Three rooms where a wall mirror doesn't work.

Almost every mirror we build solves one of these. If you're looking at a plan and something doesn't fit, it's probably one of them.

Window over the vanity

Nothing to mount to

The most common reason people find us. A metal-backed mirror hangs in front of glass without blocking the daylight around it.

Double vanity

A matched pair

Most orders are two. Suspending both at the same drop keeps the rhythm of the room, so pendants and mirrors read as one line.

Islands and open plans

Finished on both sides

The back is solid metal in the same finish as the frame, so a hanging mirror looks resolved from behind. Double-sided glass is an option.

Let's start customizing

How it works.

Four decisions and you have a price and a drawing. Nothing is quoted, nothing waits on a callback.

STEP 1

Choose a shape

Rectangle, soft corner, arch, capsule or round — or send a sketch and we'll draw something that isn't on the list.

STEP 2

Set the size

Type any dimension from 16″ × 28″ up to 36″ × 63″, or a circle up to 47″ across. Not a menu of sizes — the steel is cut to the number you enter.

STEP 3

Pick a finish

Eleven standard finishes across powder coat and plated metal, plus full RAL matching.

STEP 4

Choose lighting & drop

Backlit, front-lit or neither. Then the mount and the rod length, cut to your ceiling and adjustable if you want it.

How they're made

How a ceiling mirror is made: cut, welded, glazed, finished, crated.

Every mirror is built to the order. Nothing is pulled from a shelf, which is why a 43½″ mirror costs what it costs and arrives in the same three weeks as a 36″ one.

01

Cut

Steel profile cut to your exact dimensions and shape — including curves, arches and one-off outlines.

02

Weld

The frame is hand-welded and dressed. Corners and joints are worked back so the profile reads continuous.

03

Glaze

Mirror glass is cut to the frame and set with long-life epoxy, over a full metal back panel.

04

Finish

Electrostatic powder coat or plating across the whole assembly. Non-toxic materials throughout.

05

Crate

Hung and checked, then packed in a purpose-built wooden crate and shipped by express freight.

01 — Cut

Steel cut to your dimensions, never to a stock size.

Every frame starts as mill-length steel on the rack — tube, angle, flat bar and rod, in the profile your mirror is specified in. It is cut down to the numbers on your order, including curves, arches and one-off outlines, and every cut is dressed and squared by hand before anything is welded. Nothing here is pulled off a shelf, which is why a 43½″ mirror takes the same three weeks as a 36″ one.

01.1Stock, racked by profile
01.2Cut to length on the bandsaw
01.3Cuts dressed back by hand
01.4Ends squared on the belt sander
02 — Weld

Hand-welded, then worked back until the joint disappears.

Corners and joints are welded by hand and then dressed — ground back, sanded and checked — so the profile reads as one continuous line rather than four pieces meeting. Curves are rolled and welded the same way, which is why an arch or a capsule costs exactly what the rectangle it fits inside costs. Nothing goes any further until the frame sits square on the bench.

02.1The welding bay
02.2Welded flat on the bench
02.3A rolled curve, welded through
02.4Squared up, with its rod
05 — Crate

Built a crate at a time, to the mirror that goes in it.

Nothing here is a stock carton. Each crate is made to the piece it carries — plywood on a steel frame, banded edges and handles — which is why they come in as many sizes as the mirrors do. The mirror is hung and checked one last time, foamed in, and the crate goes out by express freight. Freight is included to the US, Canada, the UK and the EU, and US orders ship with the tariffs and duties already paid.

What you actually get

Heavy steel, real glass, and a rod cut to your ceiling.

Frame
Hand-welded steel in a 0.2″ micro, 0.4″ slim or 0.8″ standard profile. Cut to your dimensions — there are no stock sizes.
Back
Entirely metal, finished to match the frame. Nothing looks unfinished from behind, which matters when it hangs in the open.
Glass
Mirror glass from the world's largest glass manufacturer, custom cut and set into the frame with long-life epoxy. Double-sided available.
Finish
Electrostatic powder coat or plating — 11 standard finishes, plus full RAL color matching. High resistance to rust and corrosion.
Lighting
Optional LED, backlit as a glow onto the wall or front-lit through a 2″ sandblasted band. 3000K warm or 6500K daylight. Both can be combined.
Mounting
Single rod, double rod, cable or a bracket for sloped ceilings. Rods are cut to your drop, and can be specified field-adjustable over a 6″ range.
Before it leaves

Every ceiling mirror gets hung in the shop.

A suspended mirror either hangs plumb or it doesn't, and you find out the moment it's on the rod — not after a finish carpenter has already patched the ceiling.

So each piece is hung, checked and adjusted here first. One reviewer noticed the mounting rod's single hole was oriented to face the back wall, exactly as it should be. That's the level of the check.

Packing

A wooden crate, not a cardboard box.

These are heavy pieces of glass and steel crossing an ocean. Each one is foamed into a purpose-built crate with reinforced edges, then shipped by UPS, FedEx, TNT or DHL express.

Freight is included to the US, Canada, the UK and the EU, and for US orders we pay the import tariffs and duties too — there is no customs bill waiting at the door. If anything does arrive damaged, tell us and we'll make it right — we'd rather say that plainly than bury it.

Finishes

Eleven standard finishes, plus any RAL color.

Painted finishes are powder coat. Plated finishes are applied to the full welded frame and the metal back.

Trade

A trade program built for the people who spec it.

About six in ten of our orders come from an architect, designer or general contractor. The program exists because that's who we're actually serving.

Pricing

Published, not quoted

Price any size, shape and finish yourself in the configurator. Once your account is approved you get a code of your own, and it takes your discount off at checkout — the same checkout as everyone else.

Documents

Spec sheets and drawings

Every configuration generates a scaled elevation with dimensions, finish, mount detail and weight — ready to drop into a submittal.

Finishes

Eleven, plus RAL

Powder coat and plated metal, matched to a RAL number when a project calls for one. Every finish is priced the same.

Schedule

Two to three weeks

Not twelve to sixteen. If the mirror is the thing holding up a punch list, that difference is the whole reason to call us.

Anything

Genuinely custom

Non-standard shapes, oversized pieces, double-sided glass, RAL matching, sloped-ceiling mounts. Send a sketch and we'll draw it.

Volume

Multi-unit projects

Five per cent at three mirrors, seven at four or more — counted across the whole order, even when every mirror is different. Hotel, salon and multi-bath projects are quoted as a package.

About

I started making ceiling mirrors because I couldn't buy one.

I'm David. I build houses and work on interiors, and a few years ago I needed a ceiling-hung mirror in gunmetal grey for my own place in Boston. Custom, exact size, specific finish.

Everything I found was either a fixed-size import that looked like a fixed-size import, or a domestic studio quoting sixteen weeks and a number with an extra digit. There was nothing in between. So we built the thing I wanted, and people kept asking for it.

Over a thousand mirrors later, most of what we make goes into custom homes — and about six in ten orders come from an architect, designer or builder rather than a homeowner. The rest go into salons, restaurants, hotels and dental offices. One recently went into a nine-million-dollar build; plenty of others went into a single guest bath someone had been thinking about for a year. Both get the same attention to detail from our master craftsmen.

Two years on Etsy earned us Star Seller status and a 4.8 average, and we still answer messages within a few hours. That part isn't going to change as we grow.

Plainly stated

The things worth knowing before you order.

Lead time
Typically 2–3 weeks from order to delivery, including express freight. Complex one-offs and RAL matching can add a few days.
Where they're made
Designed here and fabricated by our own workshop overseas, then shipped direct by express carrier. That partnership is why the price and the schedule work.
Shipping
Free to the USA, Canada, the UK and EU countries. For US orders we pay all import tariffs and duties — the price you are quoted is the price you pay. Elsewhere, quoted on request, and duties outside the US are the buyer's.
Damage
Everything ships crated. In the rare case something arrives marked, contact us and we'll resolve it — replacement or remedy, decided with you.
Custom work
Non-standard shapes, oversized pieces and double-sided mirrors are routine. Send a sketch or a plan and we'll draw it up before you commit.
Talking to us
Messages are usually answered within a few hours. If you're specifying for a project, ask for a drawing — we'd rather get it right on paper first.

Help

Sizing, policies and lead times for a ceiling-hung mirror.

A ceiling-hung mirror is a considered purchase and it crosses an ocean to get to you. Here is everything we would want to know before ordering one — starting with the question everybody actually has.

Sizing a single mirror
About 70% of the width of the vanity below it. A 48″ vanity takes roughly a 33″ mirror — wider than that and it starts to fight the counter edges.
Sizing a pair
About 64% of each sink's half of the counter. Two mirrors over a 72″ double vanity land near 23″ each, which keeps a clean gap between them.
How far above the counter
Measure from the faucet, not the counter — the spout is the tallest thing in the way. Leave about 3″ between the top of the tap and the base of the glass. A 6″ faucet therefore wants the mirror 9″ off the counter; a tall gooseneck wants more.
How far down from the ceiling
Whatever is left. On a 9′ ceiling with a 40″ mirror that is about 24″ of rod. The configurator works all of this out for you — enter your vanity width and it proposes the whole thing.
How long does it take?

Two to three weeks from order to delivery, including express freight. Complex one-off shapes and RAL color matching can add a few days. If you have a site date, tell us before you order and we will confirm it in writing.

What does shipping cost?

Nothing to the USA, Canada, the UK and EU countries — freight is included and everything ships crated by UPS, FedEx, TNT or DHL express. For US orders we also cover every import tariff and duty ourselves, so nothing arrives with a bill attached. Anywhere else, ask and we will quote it; duties outside the US are the buyer's.

What if it arrives damaged?

Tell us, with photographs, and we will resolve it — replacement or remedy, decided with you. Every piece is foamed into a purpose-built wooden crate with reinforced edges, which is why this is rare rather than routine.

Can I return it?

Each mirror is cut, welded and finished to your dimensions, so there is no stock item to return it to. That is the trade-off for genuinely custom work. It is also why we would rather draw it up for you first, and why we will tell you if we think a configuration is a mistake.

Where are they made?

Designed here and fabricated in our own workshop overseas, then shipped direct by express carrier. That partnership is the reason a fully custom mirror is two to three weeks and not twelve to sixteen.

How much do they weigh, and what does the ceiling need?

Between roughly 10 and 140 lb, depending on the size, the shape and whether the glass is double-sided. A small round mirror is at the light end; a large double-sided rectangle is at the heavy end. The configurator shows the weight for your exact configuration, and every mirror ships with the fixings for its own weight.

Can you do a shape that isn't on the list?

Usually. Non-standard outlines, oversized pieces, double-sided glass and sloped-ceiling mounts are all routine. Send a sketch or a plan and we will draw it up and price it before you commit to anything.

What is the stainless steel option?

304 stainless steel with a PVD titanium coating, instead of carbon steel that is powder coated or plated. The frame will not rust, and the coating will not chip or peel — steam and humidity do nothing to it. Thirteen PVD colours, three shapes — rectangle, capsule and round — and the same two to three week lead time. Priced from $1,600.

Can a mirror go inside a shower?

No. Steamy, humid rooms yes — direct water contact no. Nothing we make is rated for inside a shower enclosure or an outdoor shower, in either material.

What happens to the mirror glass over the years?

The same thing that happens to every bathroom mirror: the silver backing eventually oxidises inward from the edges and darkens. That is why old bathroom mirrors go black around the rim, and no maker can honestly promise otherwise. So ours are built with the glass replaceable — when it finally goes you keep the frame and have new glass cut locally for very little. The frame is the expensive part, and on the stainless option it outlasts several sets of glass.

Do you work with designers and builders?

About six in ten of our orders come from architects, designers and general contractors. The trade program covers pricing, spec sheets, CAD files and volume breaks.

What do you track about me?

How many people visit, which pages they read, and where they arrived from — counted by us, on our own server, so we know whether any of this is working. No cookies, no advertising networks, and nothing shared with anyone. Your browser keeps a random number so that two visits are not counted as two people; it means nothing anywhere else, and clearing your site data throws it away. Nothing we count is tied to your name or your email, and the order you place is the only thing we keep about you as a person.
